WHO CAN PURCHASE PROPERTY IN CORFU?

Any European union citizen can purchase property in Corfu. For non-eu citizens, there are a couple of alternative options, which our lawyers will help you with.

 WHAT LEGALITIES WILL BE INVOLVED?

Buying a property in Corfu is very similar to buying property in most other eu countries. The Property Shop has reputable lawyers who will check the ownership and ensure that there are no outstanding mortgages on the property. The lawyer would be responsible for the appointment of a notary, who will prepare the final contract and register it with the land registry office. Once the sale is underway, you will be required to obtain a Greek tax number before the final contract is signed. This is a simple procedure, which The Property Shop can help you with.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I FIND THE PROPERTY I WANT?

Once a purchase has been agreed, the lawyer will start to prepare the paperwork and you will be required to pay a deposit of 10%

WHAT OTHER EXPENSES WILL THERE BE?

Lawyers fees and Notary fees, Transfer tax ( stamp duty ) The Property Shop fees. You should expect to pay about 10% - 12% on top of the purchase price for all these services.

The Property Shop will help and advise you on any other queries that you may have
